End of May already?

My last post mentioned going to an 'all hands' meeting at Mozilla. It was a lot of fun meeting all the people behind the IRC nicknames and attending the various sessions about what's happending at Mozilla and with Firefox.

It was a very busy time but I enjoyed staying in Mountain View. I didn't get time to get around and see much though, maybe next time. I'd set aside the Saturday to look around. With my flight leaving at 9pm it would give me a chance to do some shopping and wandering around. Unfortunately the weather decided to make that difficult.

It was beautiful weather until Saturday when it decided to rain. And rain hard. Just as Robert and I decided to walk to a nearby shopping mall and then to the train station. I got completely soaked as can probably be seen in the picture nearby, and to top it all off the mall/shopping area we were going too was closed! In the end we caught the train to the airport and dried off there while doing some work on our laptops until it was time to depart.

The flight back was good, got time to see lots of movies on the plane, and then back to work for the week.

The following weekend I flew down to Wellington to visit friends and family. I went indoor go-karting with two friends of mine, Sarah and Jody, and a couple of Jody's friends from where he works, Foodstuffs (I think). I used to work for an indoor go -karting company about ten years ago and had got to be reasonably good back then. Alas, I'm rusty and Jody got a much better lap time than me - oh well, next time :-)

Now I'm busy working on the <video> tag implementation for Firefox that I mentioned in my last post. I'll blog more about that soon.
